1. Gentoo ebuilds
I'm currently working on getting the gentoo 0.11 ebuilds into the gentoo tree, so we don't need the overlay.
The gentoo version bump request is here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178807.
Here's how I'm going:
1.1. 0.11.1 ebuilds are about to go into layman:
- app-pda/synce-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-librapi2-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-gnomevfs-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-trayicon-0.11
- app-pda/synce-libsynce-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-librra-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-sync-engine-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-odccm-0.11.1
- app-pda/synce-kpm-0.11.1
Since synce-sync-engine-0.11-r1, pywbxml and libwbxml are no longer required.
1.2. 0.11 ebuilds not requiring changes:
- app-pda/synce-gnome-0.11
1.3. ebuilds still needing work
- sys-fs/usb-rndis-lite-0.11.1.ebuild
1.4. ebuilds not requiring updates for 0.11
- app-pda/synce-librtfcomp-1.1.ebuild
1.5. ebuild not yet done (do they need to be?)
- dev-libs/libwbxml-0.9.2_p48.ebuild (replaced in-house)
- app-pda/synce-pywbxml-0.1.ebuild (replaced in-house)
- app-pda/synce-serial-0.10.0.ebuild (probably required)
- app-pda/synce-vdccm-0.10.0.ebuild (probably required)
- sys-fs/usb-rndis-ng-0.10.0.ebuild (problematic. Perhaps dropped in favour of kernel-patch ebuild?)
- kernel patch ebuild? This would contain the kernel patch necessary for newer kernels. This has to patch the kernel, which is not good for an ebuild. See net-firewall/ipset pkg_config() for an example of how to do this.
The last two are problematic because make does things to your real filesystem, which won't be allowed in an ebuild. A solution would be to install the files and tell the user to do it.
1.6. other ebuilds
Please edit this section if you want to see another synce ebuild updated in Gentoo, and I'll work on it
(note I'm not a dev, so it won't happen straight away). - synce-gnome-trayicon (iaindb)
1.7. other overlay issues
- none

Finalise the UpgradeGuide and link to it (on the front page?)
