For configuring SynCE to synchronize, you should follow both of these guides:

To enable Desktop PassThrough (also called Internet Connection Sharing), run 

sync-engine

Note that Desktop PassThrough expects an existing partnership to work. If you would like to know how to create one, see SyncEngine.
