Also, make sure to use the odccm app rather than dccm (default in gentoo). And, make sure to set in the settings the usb to pc setting to use the advanced functionality. Then, once you are running odccm (try to run as odccm -f so you can see the connection output), your phone will auto-connect with odccm and you'll hopefully see this success.

I'm using gentoo and the custom ebuilds from the "Building_SynCE_with_Windows_Mobile_2005_support_from_Subversion" page and the "Connecting_your_Windows_Mobile_2005_device_via_USB_(usb-rndis-lite)" from subversion. After I ran
modprobe rndis_host
and plugging in my tmobile dash
dmesg
shows that it connected. Then, I ran
odccm -f
and watched the output on my command-line to see the connection happening.

Also known as:

Cingular 3125,

More information: http://www.smartphonehistory.com/specs.php?UID=32
Connected using: USB
Details: Device connected using the ipaq driver following the instructions on the older SynCE Howto. pcp and pls didn't seems to work, but perhaps I was doing something incorrect as the kio-slave worked fine using the rapip:/// url. raki didn't seem to know how to talk to odccm, so it didn't work, but I could use synce-install-cab to run cab installers. I used the latest stable gentoo ebuilds from synce overlay (see Windows_Mobile_2005_Gentoo_SVN_Ebuilds). One word of note is that dccm and vdccm didn't seem to work for me, but odccm did. The ebuilds I explicitly installed were synce-serial, synce-odccm, and synce-kde. rstanchak 11:00, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
